Founded Pitbull Studio in 2010, building it into a successful work-for-hire studio with major publisher contracts. In 2014, the studio was acquired by Epic Games — becoming Epic Games UK — and Robert stayed on as General Manager. His focus was building and leading a technically outstanding team whose contributions proved pivotal to the creation of Unreal Engine 4. Members of the team also went on to contribute to Fortnite, Infinity Blade, and other Epic titles. A unique vantage point: operating inside one of the world's most powerful game companies while retaining the instincts of someone who had built and run a studio from scratch.

Following the acquisition of Pitbull Syndicate by Midway Studios — which became Midway Studios UK — continued as a lead programmer on Wheelman, an open-world action title built on Unreal Engine 3 and starring Vin Diesel. Responsible for engine-level performance optimisation across PS3 and Xbox 360, working at the frontier of what those platforms could do.
